Summer Camp

Claremont Neighborhood Centers, Inc. offers a dynamic and enriching Summer Day Camp for children ages 6-12, designed to engage young minds and bodies through a balanced mix of recreation, creativity, and academic support. Operating weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the program is especially vital for working families in the community, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment during the summer months.

Campers enjoy exciting field trips to local museums, zoos, and upstate recreational areas, as well as on-site activities like arts and crafts, music appreciation, and dance. In response to ongoing concerns about summer learning loss, Claremont has strengthened its program by introducing a dedicated academic component—focusing particularly on literacy. This Summer Learning Loss Initiative will provide 10 hours per week of academic enrichment over 8 weeks, totaling 80 hours of targeted support. The goals of this initiative are twofold: 1) To provide low-income, underperforming 6th-8th graders with meaningful opportunities to strengthen their literacy skills, which are essential for long-term academic achievement; and 2) To ensure that all participants, at a minimum, maintain their current reading grade level—with the aspiration that many will demonstrate measurable gains by summer's end. With this comprehensive approach, Claremont's Summer Day Camp continues to serve as both a joyful experience and a powerful stepping stone in every child's educational journey.RetryClaude can make mistakes.
