Our Philosophy & Approach

For over forty years, Claremont Center has been dedicated to providing early childhood education rooted in the belief that childhood should be preserved and that children are the most valuable investment in our future.

We are committed to creating child-centered, developmentally appropriate activities that provide children with opportunities to grow socially, physically, emotionally, cognitively, culturally, and creatively in a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

Our centers offer a structured yet flexible setting where children can explore self-concepts, observe, create, engage in play, solve problems, and rest while acquiring essential knowledge and skills. We are dedicated to fostering a family-friendly environment that meets the evolving needs of young children and their families through daily curriculum planning and parental involvement.

Our Guiding Principle

Our Curriculum

Following the Head Start framework, we believe that high-quality early childhood education and family services provide long-term benefits to children, their families, and society. Our curriculum is tailored to accommodate different learning styles, including those of children with disabilities and those who are gifted and talented.

Social-Emotional

Helping children develop self-confidence, build relationships with others, understand and express emotions, and learn self-regulation skills.

Physical

Developing fine and gross motor skills through activities that promote movement, coordination, balance, and overall physical wellness.

Cognitive & Language

Fostering critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, vocabulary development, and communication skills through engaging activities.

Creative Expression

Encouraging imagination, artistic development, and self-expression through art, music, dance, and dramatic play.

Our Educational Approach

At our centers, we prioritize holistic child development by utilizing screening tools such as Ages and Stages, Brigance, and Teaching Strategies Gold. We incorporate the NYS Common Core Standards to prepare children for kindergarten success.

Developmental Screening

We use research-based screening tools to monitor each child's progress and identify areas for additional support or enrichment.

Play-Based Learning

We believe in the power of play as a foundation for learning, allowing children to explore, experiment, and develop important skills through fun activities.

Kindergarten Readiness

Our program incorporates the NYS Common Core Standards to ensure children develop the skills needed for a successful transition to kindergarten.

We actively encourage parent participation in their child's education through regular communication, family events, and volunteer opportunities.
