Raising Our Daughters Raising Our Daughters “To Be Proud! Be Responsible! Be Protective”! Target Group: Current teen moms or pregnant teen moms ages 10-20. We have adapted and added the Be Proud! Be Responsible! Be Protective! Approach to reach our pregnant and parenting teen moms; our program targets girls who are already mothers or pregnant girls who are currently expecting their first child. The program emphasizes the role of maternal protectiveness in motivating adolescents to make healthy sexual decisions and decreases risky sexual behaviors. It also encourages young girls to take on sexual responsibility and accountability and increases her awareness of the effects of HIV/AIDS on inner city communities and their child/children. This program also helps moms in all aspects of becoming a proud mom who can raise her daughter(s) and/or son(s) into health mature adults. We also have a mentorship component with selected college Sororities. The mentors are guest speakers who are dedicated in helping young girls make a difference and changes in their life.
